We are very exited to welcome the new members to the Oxford University Africa Society and to see the returning members again.
We hope for this to be a brilliant and satisfying year for you. The AfriSoc committee is working to help make it so. We have published the term card, which also contains events organized by or in collaboration with our partners, from the Oxford Africa Initiative to the KOFO Collective for Black Women. One example of this is the Black History Arts Night, for which sign up is open.

Michaelmas Term Card
We have a first term packed with events ready for you. We will continue to work closely with the Africa Oxford Initiative and the Africa Studies Centre to bring you interesting conversations and new perspectives about Africa. We will also increase our interactions with the African and Caribbean Society, the KOFO collective, the Black Association for Rhodes Scholars and the Brookes BME society to further bring our communities together. Find the term card in high quality here.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to get involved in the society and help shape its projects across the university and beyond.
The deadline for the Vice-President position and for the Conference Co-Chairs is next Friday. There will be an extra week to submit applications towards other roles needed for the Oxford Africa Conference.
Black History Month Arts Night Sign Up
The Kofo Collective for Black Women, The Black Association for Rhodes Scholars, and the Oxford African Society have joined forces to host the BHM Arts Night on Wednesday, October 25th from 7:30-10pm at the St. Antony's Buttery.
If you have any talents (singing, dancing, spoken word, etc.), then please sign up!
We were happy to meet many of you during at the Freshers Fair. This map shows the geographical provenance of the ordinary (students) and associate members that have registered so far. We believe many more have yet to register.
Registration is the only step we require for membership and it helps the Society in its scholarship endeavours.
Opportunity at McKinsey & Company
The UK Campus Recruiting team of McKinsey & Company have organised an International Afternoon Tea event on 26 October 2017 in London.
The event is designed for students interested in working in our global McKinsey offices outside of the UK and we welcome applications from penultimate and final year students from bachelor's and master's degrees from any background. Attending the event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the international opportunities that they offer and to network with their consultants from a wide range of regions.
If you are interested, apply by the 15th of October here.
