Mantate Queeneth Mlotshwa

Fashion Show Curator

Mantate Mlotshwa is a Zimbabwean development practitioner, creative entrepreneur, and speaker passionate about human rights and governance. She is reading the MSc in African Studies at the University of Oxford, where she serves as the Vice President of the St Cross College Student Representative Committee and the Graduate Representative for the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe.

Mantate is the Founder of the creative brand, U Motle, premised on exploring and curating African culture and experiences through fashion. Before coming to Oxford, she worked as the Program Lead for Arts4Change, a creative arts and digital media initiative co-led by Magamba Network and Accountability Lab Zimbabwe, equipping young filmmakers, musicians and comedians with knowledge and skills to produce music, films, and documentaries that spotlight accountability issues in the country. Her work centres on the representation of traditionally marginalized groups in governance processes.

A published co-author, speaker and podcast host, Mantate believes in the power of owning and contributing to the broadening of narratives. She loves travelling,  meeting new people, and fashion
