Ayomikun is a Rhodes Scholar and MSc in Energy Systems candidate at the University of Oxford. He hails from Lagos, Nigeria and is passionate about expanding reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity access across the African landscape. Ayomikun graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a dual Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and Management. At MIT, he conducted perovskite solar research under the MIT Energy Initiative and applied machine learning tools in oil and gas completions at Pioneer Natural Resources.

Prior to Oxford, Ayomikun worked as an energy, climate and sustainability consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In that role, he supported both public and private sector clients in tackling multifaceted, low-carbon energy challenges including developing decarbonization roadmaps, accelerating procurement scale, and enabling just energy transitions.

With a vision to accelerate widespread electricity access on the continent, Ayomikun is excited to utilise his energy systems toolkit to address distribution bottlenecks and unlock Africa’s renewable energy potential.
