Luena Abigail Pimenta Ricardo is a MPhil candidate at the University of Oxford in Global and Area Studies. She holds a Master of Arts in International Economics, Business, and Cultural Diplomacy from Furtwangen University (2021) and a Bachelor of Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (2018). Luena is a full-ride scholar from the National Institute of Scholarship Management of the Republic of Angola and has a partial scholarship
from the Lemann Foundation.
She has been involved in numerous multinational, interdisciplinary, and social projects in Africa, South America and Europe. Since 2019, Luena has obtained consulting experience by contributing to youth and migration-related projects at IOM Germany, ORAM, and GIZ, among others. She also represented Angola in a number of international events, including at UNESCO, the World Youth Forum, and the African Union. From November 2021 to November 2022, she presided over the Model African Union Bayreuth. Currently, Luena is an Editor of The Graduate Inequality Review, a student-led journal at the University of Oxford.
