Dr. Charles Amo-Agyemang

Senior Lecturer in International Relations with expertise in Climate Resilience and Adaptation

Dr. Charles Amo-Agyemang holds appointment as a senior lecturer in the disciplinary history of International Relations in the Department of Political Science, University of Ghana. Since completing his PhD, he has been conducting new research in Ghana on the politics of indigeneity in specifically African contexts, as well as other subjects. His work has contributed to theoretical and empirical knowledge concerning posthumanism, non-linearity, discourses of resilience, adaptation and vulnerabilities, global power relations, politics in decolonial thought, post-structuralist political theory, neoliberal critique in biopolitical framework, governmentality, environmental politics and African development, including specifically Ghana. His works on discourses of resilience, adaptation and vulnerabilities critically examine the impact of resilience on our lives and its relation to the world. He is a fellow of the Partnership for Africa’s Next Generation of Academics (PANGeA), Stellenbosch University, and was a speaker at the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) Academic Conference on Africa held in December 2023. He is also Principal Investigator for Decolonizing Resilience: Afrocentric Research Hub, Ghana. A Senior Resercher, UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) on Decolonizing Resilience from the Global South. A team member of Erasmus+ Funded Project: 101178083 Strengthening Conflict Management and Transformation Studies in Africa (CONMAT), Austria, Vienna.
