Jo Ann Takyiwah Sackey is a dynamic and visionary leader with a distinguished career spanning international trade, economic policy, energy sustainability, and social impact. She currently serves as the Deputy Country Director and Trade Promotion Lead for Education at the British High Commission in Accra, where she drives strategic UK-Ghana trade relations and fosters educational partnerships that support inclusive economic growth.
Jo Ann began her career at Nestlé Central and West Africa Region LTD, where she honed her analytical acumen as a Cost Analyst in the Costing Centre of Competence for Africa. She later transitioned to the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) as a Senior Policy Analyst, where she led high-impact research and advocacy initiatives focused on energy governance, sustainability, and equitable access.
In 2020, she joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) as a Senior Prosperity Officer. In this role, she provided strategic economic insights, conducted cross-sector policy analysis, and served as Secretary to the UK-Ghana Business Council (UKGBC), facilitating high-level bilateral engagements and investment dialogues.
Beyond her public sector achievements, Jo Ann is a passionate social entrepreneur and changemaker. She is the Co-founder of Love’s Closet Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting child development and supporting children with special needs. She is also the Founder and CEO of Jo’s Keepsakes, a thriving enterprise that celebrates Ghanaian craftsmanship through bespoke handmade gifts and souvenirs.
Jo Ann’s talents extend into the creative arts. She is an award-winning actress and a celebrated member of Roverman Productions and Liezer-Legacy Productions. In 2018, she received the Ghana Movie Award for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her standout role in Kejetia Vs Makola.
