Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Econet Wireless Zimbabwe

 

Roy is the Deputy CEO of Econet Wireless (Pvt) Ltd. He has been with Econet Wireless for 15 years having joined as Deputy Finance Director in 2009 and was appointed to the board in February 2016, becoming the Group Finance Director in 2020. He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe)  and Chartered Accountant (South Africa).

Roy comes with 25 years experience as a finance professional. Roy made remarkable contribution to the Zimbabwe accounting profession where he led amendments that were later adopted by the IASB on IFRS 1 (Severe Hyperinflation) on how entities report after periods of severe hyperinflation.

He holds a B.Compt (Honors) in Accounting Science Degree from the University of South Africa and is a past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ). He sits on the board of Telrad Networks Limited, which is a part of Cassava Technologies Group. He is leading Econet Wireless digital transformation journey and AI acceleration.
