Community Power & System Strength: Building Resilient Health Systems for Crisis Preparedness in Africa
Africa’s recent public health challenges from regional epidemics like Mpox and Ebola to global crises like COVID-19 have reinforced a fundamental truth that health resilience is not built during a crisis, but in advance of it. Resilient health systems depend not only on physical infrastructure and policy frameworks but also on the leadership, trust, and capacity embedded in communities themselves.
This workshop will explore the powerful intersection between community led health interventions and resilient health infrastructure as twin pillars of preparedness and long-term health security in Africa. It will showcase how investing in communities and systems together offers the most sustainable and inclusive path to protecting populations against future health emergencies.
