SignTalk is an innovative AI-driven platform aimed at enhancing communication between deaf patients and healthcare providers. In numerous healthcare environments, deaf patients often face significant challenges in effectively conveying their needs due to the scarcity of interpreters. This communication barrier can result in misunderstandings, delays in treatment, and increased clinical risks.
SignTalk addresses this issue by providing real-time translation between Ghanaian Sign Language and spoken or written language. Utilizing advanced computer vision technology, the platform interprets sign language and employs a visual avatar to convey responses back to patients. This facilitates clearer communication for both parties, even in situations where specialized support is unavailable.

InventAfrika is a community-driven platform focused on expanding access to hardware innovation across Southern Africa. While many young people are exposed to software, very few have the opportunity to build physical technologies, even though many of the continent’s challenges also require hardware solutions.
InventAfrika addresses this by creating hands-on spaces where students can experiment, build, and learn outside of formal academic settings. Through hackathons, workshops, and mentorship, the initiative connects students with industry and builds their confidence to tackle real problems.
