What We Do
Community
As the largest organisation for African students at the University of Oxford, AfriSoc provides plenty of opportunities to make friends and connect with fellow Africans.
Scholarship Access & Mentorship
AfriSoc is dedicated to increasing the representation of African students in Oxford through scholarship application support and our mentorship programme.
Academic Support
Through essay workshops, DPhil and MSc roundtables, and research seminars, AfriSoc and the Africa Oxford Initiative provide resources to set African students up for success and promote their research.
Socialising
Bops are an Oxford term for parties, and the Afrobop is known as one of the top bops each term!
Welfare
The welfare team provides support and organises campaigns on different welfare issues, including the AfriSoc welfare fund, which eases financial hardships of African students in the society.
Navigating Oxford
We recognise that acclimatising to Oxford is a unique experience. Through our resources and members, we strive to ensure that every member feels at home in Oxford.
