Ed Bussey is a serial entrepreneur and leading UK technology expert, having launched, scaled and successfully exited three venture-backed, disruptive technology businesses: one of the UK’s first pure-ecommerce businesses (acquired by N Brown Group), mobile app pioneer ZYB (acquired by Vodafone) and award-winning, multi-language content platform Quill (acquired by global agency Jellyfish).
Ed is now CEO of Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE), an independent, billion-pound investment company, that founds, funds and builds transformational businesses. Via its unique partnership with the University of Oxford, the world’s #1 research university, and backed by blue-chip investors, OSE is turning the world’s most advanced science and technologies into companies tackling the world’s toughest challenges. Focusing on high-impact sectors, OSE’s portfolio spans fusion power, human longevity, vaccine development, therapeutics, AI, quantum computing, space and climate technology.
Ed has been awarded “UK Entrepreneur of the Year”, “Disruptor of the Year”, and “Heropreneur of the Year”, recognising the most successful military veteran entrepreneurs. He began his career serving in counterterrorism operations with the UK military and national security agencies.  He studied Natural Science at Cambridge University.
