BIOGRAPHY

His Excellency Albertus Aochamub, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the French Republic (with Concurrent accreditation to Spain, Italy, Monaco and Portugal) and Permanent Delegate of Namibia to UNESCO, OECD, BIE, CPLP, UNWTO

 

His Excellency Albertus Aochamub holds a 26-year track record in senior management in the private and public sectors, including academia, telecommunications (fixed-mobile), retail banking, public broadcasting, and diplomacy.

 

Between 1999 and 2019, he has also occupied board-level positions, notably in the financial services the non-profit sectors. With respect to transformational leadership, Mr Aochamub is widely credited with achieving financial sustainability and digital broadcast migration of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation as the Director General/CEO between 2010 and 2015. This achievement has, in part, led to the appointment by the Namibian President as the Press Secretary and MediaAdvisor to the Namibian Presidency between 2015 and 2018. He assumed the current role as the Namibian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the French Republic in December 2018. The Paris Mission has concurrent accreditation to Monaco, Spain, Portugal and Italy and also UNESCO (Paris), OECD (Paris), BIE (Paris), CPLP (Lisbon) and UNTOURISM (Madrid).

 

Ambassador Aochamub further represented Namibia on the Executive Board of UNESCO (2019-2023) and the Executive Council of UN TOURISM (current) and serves the Southern African subregion on the African World Heritage Fund (A UNESCO Category II Centre in South Africa). The Namibian diplomat holds an MA (Hons) from Glasgow University and an MBA (International Marketing) from Sunderland University.
