Welcome to the AfriSoc Blog! This platform is dedicated to celebrating the incredible achievements of our scholars and alumni while providing a space to amplify all African voices, perspectives, and stories.
The AfriSights magazine contributes to the growing body of literature and media that reframe the African narrative through an Africanist perspective. The blog will replicate this theme by sharing and exploring the opinions and stories of Oxford students and other Africanists in the United Kingdom. By delving into educational ambitions, cultural dynamics, arts, and politics, it aims to foster a vibrant community of writers while documenting the ongoing work and impact of Oxford Africa events. Additionally, the blog will also highlight the achievements, resolutions, and contestations of Oxford Africa’s vast number of events throughout the year.

I like how AfriSights creates space for both personal stories and thoughtful discussion, especially by combining student experiences with African art, media, and global issues. Giving students a chance to develop their writing and analytical voice while documenting their community makes the project feel meaningful. I also enjoy expressing ideas through Melon Sandbox, a physics-based sandbox game where I can experiment with characters, objects, and different interactive scenarios.

There are some elements that are enjoyable, but in the long term, they are not particularly thrilling. A Melon Playground few instances of lag occurred when I was using the system. Although it is suitable for casual gaming, I believe that they should work on improving performance and adding more options that are interesting.
