Socialising
One of the core missions of the Oxford Africa Society is to nurture strong community bonds and a healthy social environment for all its members to thrive in.
To enable this, our Ministry of Enjoyment organizes a wide variety of social events — including our termly AfroBops (i.e., African-themed parties), mix & mingles, speed & friend dating sessions, African food & cultural nights, and many other events centered around maximizing collective enjoyment!
While social events are a central part of our mission, we are also committed to fostering a vibrant and engaged African intellectual community here at Oxford. To ensure this, we also curate community discussion groups (a.k.a “Under the Palaver Tree Debates”), speaker series, panel events, and, of course, our renowned annual Oxford Africa Conference.
