David Michael

Speaker Experience Lead

David C. Michael is a Doctoral Researcher in Clinical Medicine at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University of Oxford, where his research harnesses sequencing and other omics technologies to identify novel biomarkers for early cancer detection and therapeutic development, particularly in colorectal cancer. He holds a master's degree in Human Molecular Genetics with a Distinction from Imperial College London through a fully funded Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship, and a first-class bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Benin, Nigeria. 

At Oxford, David serves as Vice President (Institutional Relations) of the Oxford University Biotech Society (OUBT), where he leads strategic collaborations across departments, societies, and global partners to foster biotech innovation and empower student-led entrepreneurship. Beyond academia, he has worked as an Associate Business Management Consultant at the Alpharosso Consulting, leading projects in the development of KPI frameworks, process optimization, and workforce capacity enhancement, achieving a 65% improvement in client performance metrics within nine months.

Passionate about leadership and development across Africa, David has contributed to several NGOs and advocacy initiatives, including the ONE Campaign UK, UK Model WHO, FECA Nigeria, and The Hive Network Africa. His multidisciplinary experience reflects a commitment to advancing innovation, capacity building, and equitable health research partnerships across Africa and the global scientific community.
